How about a deluxe, ready-to-fly Special Light-Sport Aircraft that can carry more than 700 pounds of payload, climb at 700-1,200 feet per minute, yet sell for less than $40,000? (Seriously, the one in this video remarkably lists for $38,000!) Though some pilots may wonder if a powered parachute is for them, my experience says they are superb viewing platforms and when they are built this beautifully, you simply have to reconsider.
Can a PPC be used as a scenic business? I’ve heard if you have a pilot license and tail number you could. But then, some people say you can’t unless it’s only for teaching to fly.
If a PPC has Special LSA approval (Powrachute has SLSA models), then it can be used for flight instruction. No PPC can be used for a “scenic business,“ presuming that that means taking a passenger with you on a sightseeing flight for a fee. FAA would call that passenger carrying and doing so for compensation is not allowed on LSA.
Dan – I live in Missouri. Where can I go to buy a new Air Wolf and have an honest dealer to sell me one?
Hi Ron: The best suggestion is to contact Powrachute and inquire directly.
