More Unique ByDanJohnson.com Content:
In 2009, ByDanJohnson.com added three new features — PlaneFinder 2.0…LSA Videos…and LSA Market Info.
PlaneFinder 2.0 is our automated, interactive system that asks your preference to 24 very simple (this-or-that type) categories, for example, “High wing or low wing?” As you answer, the Matching SLSA list will swiftly narrow your search to those with your preferred qualities. It’s a fast, fun, helpful feature and you will find nothing else like it on the Internet.
Earlier in 2009, we introduced LSA Videos. These are short video segments about many top-selling or brand-new Light-Sport Aircraft. We’ll keep adding more, so check back often.
As 2009 began our new feature was LSA Market Info, which collects all our articles about the business of Light-Sport Aircraft and tracks the market shares of leading companies. Lots of folks ask about this and LSA Market Info makes it easier to find. It updates frequently.
ByDanJohnson.com launched another new feature on opening day of the Sebring LSA Expo 2008. The new
FIRM List ByDanJohnson,
can be found on the menu bar for the Light Sport Aircraft tab. FIRM List is
a carefully researched directory of places you can find Flight Instruction,
Rental, and Maintenance for Light-Sport Aircraft.
`
In mid-November 2006 we launched the
“SLSA List” also appearing on
the Light Sport Aircraft menu bar. Many visitors have asked for a list
of what new airplanes have won their certification and in what order. I work hard
to keep up with this fast-evolving list and I will post the newest additions as soon
as I know about them. You can then link to read my pilot reports on the aircraft or
company as well as be linked to their company website.
Growing interest in Light-Sport Aircraft is bringing record numbers of visitors to ByDanJohnson.com. I sincerely appreciate your readership and intend to keep creating new content and features to encourage
your regular visits.
When we completed our second year in April 2006, several new services were launched for your web surfing enjoyment.
SPLOG is Sport Pilot Web Log
SPLOG ByDanJohnson is my personal Blog about Sport Pilot & Light-Sport Aircraft
plus ultralights, hang gliders and more. While SPLOG does not attempt to replace
genuine news coverage in any of the magazines for which I write, it gives
visitors a sense of new aircraft or achievements that I find interesting. LSA news is often seen first on ByDanJohnson.com and SPLOG is the place to find the latest.
The best news…SPLOG ByDanJohnson is FREE to all visitors. You don’t need to register (though
I’d like it if you did). And, you don’t need to be a member (but don’t let
that stop you from spending $29 on a memberhip — which gains access to every single article on the website AND lets you access SpecCheck, Pros & Cons, PlaneView,
plus more to come).
Many New Articles Posted to ByDanJohnson.com
We continue to add new articles to ByDanJohnson.com. Many of
the newest ones appear under the Light Sport Aircraft tab, which also has several new
general articles full of info about the new aviation rule plus dozens of
new pilot reports. New articles appear throughout the website. Look around
and see what interests you.
Remember, you can check out any pilot report article before paying for it.
A photo and a few paragraphs will help you make sure the article is about
the aircraft you’re seeking. I invite you to look around the site and find
the new entries. Recently posted articles were published from 2004 to 2008 so
they represent the “latest and greatest” of light sport aviation.
Hang Glider pilots will enjoy 120 additional “Product Lines” columns from Hang
Gliding & Paragliding Magazine. ByDanJohnson.com presents over 15 years of my once-popular
column, representing a fascinating section of hang gliding history. And, all of
it is searchable.
New Search Power
My webmaster (also a pilot), has thoroughly indexed the hundreds of articles on
ByDanJohnson.com. SEARCH now works better than ever. Click the glasses on the
helmet logo or click “Search” on the left nav bar to see how you can find
anything on the site. With hundreds of articles and literally millions of
words, Search is a big help to find what you want on ByDanJohnson.com.
SpecCheck©
SpecCheck allows you to compare aircraft specifications side by side, which eliminates the need to toggle between articles. This service is available exclusively for our Members and Registered Users. Simply select as many aircraft as you want to compare and SpecCheck does the rest.
Pros & Cons©
Like the SpecCheck, our Pros & Cons section allows Members to compare airplanes. Pros & Cons allows you to compare the positive and negative aspects of prospective aircraft side-by-side. This feature is exclusive to Pilot Reports published in Ultralight! Flying Magazine and is available to Members and Registered Users of byDanJohnson.com.
PlaneView©
ByDanJohnson.com has thousands of photos available in our database. With PlaneView, Members and Registered Users can search for all photos related to a specific aircraft, or series of aircraft.
Every year, visitors will see between 15 and 20 new pilot reports added to the Web site. You should find articles of interest in several categories. Each month, you’ll see a few new pilots reports and dozens of new photos.
We’re thinking of new features to add to the site all the time. Please check back regularly.
