Super 2 was first seen as a British aircraft and indeed, that’s where I first flew it. Now it is a Made-in-America design under the direction of Tony Dawson of North Carolina. His company is Opus Aircraft and this Special Light-Sport Aircraft won approval in February 2008. It’s swept forward wings, aft hinging canopy, and reverse link nosewheel suspension are just some of the differences of this interesting aircraft.

Does anybody know where all the parts and airframes are now…? This side of the pond, where we fly these planes? There are rumours that all assets have been bought by the Chinese! Any knowledge?
Dan Johnson says
Hi Roger: The last I heard from some broker was an effort to sell the rights, tooling, and inventory but they were asking a large amount of money for a product that had never built a market (though, obviously, this was flying in England many years ago where I took a flight in it). I have no knowledge of a Chinese acquisition.
