One of the most attention-getting aircraft at AirVenture 2012 was the Lisa Akoya, and no wonder. Akoya has design qualities and features not found on any other aircraft we’ve seen. After the airshow, the company announced new plans regarding financing so the future has some questions marks. Yet something this beautiful is going to emerge one day. Join us as we a tour of the eye-popping Akoya inside and out.

It’s so sad that Lisa has gone silent. The Akoya is a gorgeous design, blowing away the Icon A5 in both looks and performance. Being able to actually purchase one was always going to be a stretch, but I was willing to make the effort!

Gone off the radar! A dream LSA? Really hope they build them, any more news on availability?
Dan Johnson says
Hi Timothy: It has been quiet a long time, interestingly, after Chinese investors bought into the project. I’ll see if I can found out anything.
Timothy Leach says
Thank you Dan,
It seems they don’t send out news letters anymore. Rather strange having gone so far with design and testing to just shut off with no news. Surely with such a unique product you would think an investor would jump on it right away. Its over ten years since the prototype flew.
I would like to get hold of a shell even, Ill happily make it fly again, as experimental. Dreaming of being able to fly to my beach retreat door to door, wow.
If they did shut down, whats stopped others from making something similar?
All the best,
Tim

Great looking. Did they ever make it to production?
Dan Johnson says
Hi Vasilis: They are still working on it to my last awareness.
