Some said it could never be done. How could you add air conditioning to Light-Sport Aircraft? It’s too heavy, too expensive, too bulky, said many. They’re wrong. The folks at Air Management Technologies or AMT have built the FlyCool system that works excellently on LSA and does not cost an arm and a leg nor does the system take up much room or add much weight. This video (with other installations to follow) explains how it works.

So the last update I have seen on this was from 2017. It’s now 4 years later and so I wanted to know if there was an option for a small LSA air conditioning system. The climate I live in during the summer we have temperatures that reach in excess of 100 with humidity in excess of 80 %to 90%.

I regret it appears all suppliers of such equipment have withdrawn from the market.

Do you know if Van’s has any plans to offer this on their RV-12?
Dan Johnson says
Hi Richard: FlyCool has left the light aircraft market (perhaps focusing on business jets and other high-cost aircraft). Other companies could offer such a system and I’ve heard talk of a follow-on company but so far, I know nothing solid. In Van’s Aircraft’s part of the world air conditioning is not particularly necessary so interested buyers should contact them directly.
